Have the targets been achieved?

It has yet to be determined whether or not government has been able to achieve its target to conserve energy; or was it an ineffective strategy to turn the clocks an hour ahead of the standard time. Back on 15th April this year were moved ahead till 31st October 2009. Most of the people both from rural and urban areas paid no heed to the change in time, as they thought it wouldn’t make any difference to them. Timings in most mosques in the country went unchanged. People never got used to the new mechanism as whenever anything related to time used to be decided, people were always questioning, ‘ new or old original time?’. Majority of the population is of the opinion that if government didn’t manage to attain any benefit out of this time advancement, then it should not be practiced in future. Rather people are of the view that public has suffered increased load shedding after the advancement of clock, that implies that it couldn’t establish any positive outcomes in future. The decision makers didn’t realize that advancing the clocks by one hour means to utilize sunlight and implies more work. More work will lead to more demand in energy thus imparting opposite results. As winters started the clocks were reversed thus providing a relief to the students office goers.
